Ahmet Rüstem's idea originates from ancient mosaic tile patterns. Mosaics appear to be 3D with patterns on surfaces, and there are similarities between mosaic pieces and digital pixels. Mosaics also tell stories about the community they belong to in terms of beliefs, culture, symbols, and daily life. Since they appear 3D, augmented reality is the newest way to go beyond a surface.
Ahmet created 2150 patterns with borders, inspired by the storytelling of ancient mosaics. Each piece acts like a music box that is reminiscent of shapes from the past, present, and future. The pieces invite you to explore the depth of their content.
